The IU Dance Marathon is a yearlong fundraiser for Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and thousands of students participate each year. It’s culminating event includes a dance marathon in which students stay standing and awake for a full 36 hours in honor of children who are at Riley and cannot stand.
Over 4,000 students took part in the 2016 IU Dance Marathon from Nov. 4 to 6 and broke the $4 million mark for the first time in its 26-year history of fundraising. IU Dance Marathon is the second-largest student-run philanthropic organization in the nation.
